AP Bio Diversity Board has conducted a Conference in Vijayawada on 29th April, 2026 on the implementation of Access And Benefit Sharing (ABS) policy which involves the Transfer of a Fair Equity to Fishermen from the sale of Marine Resource as a reward for being the custodians of the Sea as per the 2023 BD Act passed by Parliament Act.   The ABS, whose implementation was mostly confined to Land resources is now being proposed to be expanded into the Marine Sector and the similar terrestrial ABS benefits are to be obtained by Marine Fishermen too.
