The Andhra Pradesh State Biodiversity Board is committed to the conservation of our state's rich biological heritage through scientific research, community engagement, and sustainable development practices. We work to protect endangered species, preserve natural habitats, and maintain ecological balance.
Our mission extends beyond conservation to include the sustainable utilization of biodiversity resources that provide livelihoods, healthcare, and economic opportunities for local communities while ensuring these resources remain available for future generations.

Strategic Goals 2023-2030

Conservation & Protection

Protect and restore critical habitats, endangered species, and ecological corridors. Establish 50 new protected areas and reduce threats to biodiversity by 60% by 2030.

Sustainable Use

Promote sustainable harvesting practices, eco-tourism, and biodiversity-based livelihoods. Increase community participation in conservation by 80% and create 10,000 green jobs.

Equitable Benefit Sharing

Ensure fair sharing of benefits from biological resources with local communities. Implement Access and Benefit Sharing mechanisms across all 13 districts by 2025.

Vision Plan Implementation

2023-2024

Foundation Building

Strengthen institutional capacity, complete biodiversity inventories, and establish baseline data for all ecosystems.

2025-2026

Expansion Phase

Scale up conservation programs, establish new protected areas, and implement sustainable use policies across sectors.

2027-2028

Integration Phase

Mainstream biodiversity across all development sectors and establish monitoring systems for all conservation targets.
